Privacy policy
Supernova is a travel app for planning trips, sharing travel posts, and keeping your bookings in one place. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have.
Supernova is operated by Galaxie Labs ("we", "us"). Questions go to support@galaxielabs.space.
The short version: we collect what you give us to run the app. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, full name, and username. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that provider shares.
- Date of birth: asked for at sign-up only to confirm you're 13 or older. We don't store it.
- Profile: an optional photo, bio, and location you type in.
- What you post and plan: posts, photos, videos, captions, place tags, comments, likes, follows, trips and itineraries, trip journal entries, trip budgets and expenses, trip invitations, and direct messages.
- Travel wallet: boarding passes (airline, flight number, times, seat, gate, and barcode data), reservations (including confirmation codes), and loyalty programs (member numbers and balances).
- Booking imports: the text of any confirmation you paste in so we can add it to your wallet.
- AI trip requests: the destination, dates, travel style, and preferences you enter.
- Reports and blocks: the reason and any details you give when you report content or an account, and the accounts you block. The person you report or block isn't told who you are.
Information collected when you use the app
- Push notification token, so we can send notifications you've allowed.
- Subscription status: whether you have Supernova Pro, when it renews or expires, and your purchase history. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Usage counts needed to apply free-plan limits, such as how many AI trips you've generated this week.
- Technical information such as IP address and device type, which the services below receive when the app connects to them.
Camera, photos, and location
Supernova uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a photo or video. It doesn't read your device's GPS location. Places attached to posts and trips are the ones you search for or choose.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your profile, posts, and trips to the people you've chosen to share them with.
- To generate AI itineraries and turn pasted confirmations into wallet entries.
- To check the status of flights in your wallet and, for Pro members, send flight alerts.
- To power search, your feed, messages, and notifications.
- To provide Supernova Pro and apply free-plan limits.
- To keep Supernova safe: filtering objectionable language before it's posted, reviewing reports, hiding content that several people report, and removing content and accounts that break our terms of use.
Who can see your information
Other people on Supernova. Your name, username, profile photo, bio, and follower counts are visible to other signed-in users. Posts, and trips you make public, are visible to others. Trips set to followers-only or private are limited to those audiences. Your travel wallet and saved trips are visible only to you. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation.
Service providers. We use these companies to run Supernova. Each gets only what it needs to do its job:
- Google Firebase stores your account, content, and files, runs our servers, and handles sign-in.
- Google Gemini API processes AI trip requests and pasted booking confirmations to produce itineraries and wallet entries. We ask your permission before sending anything, and nothing is sent unless you use an AI feature. You can withdraw permission in Settings → Privacy → AI data sharing.
- Google Places receives place searches and returns place details and photos.
- Mapbox provides maps and receives technical information when they load.
- Algolia powers search and holds a copy of public profiles and public trips.
- RevenueCat manages subscriptions and receives purchase records linked to your account ID.
- Apple and Google process payments and, if you use them, sign-in.
- AviationStack receives flight numbers and dates to look up flight status.
- Expo delivers push notifications.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and of Supernova.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, content, wallet, and messages you've sent, and remove your public profile and trips from search. Copies in backups and service provider systems are removed on their normal schedules. Purchase records may be kept where the law requires it, and reports you made or that were made about you may be kept for as long as we need them to keep Supernova safe and meet legal obligations.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, posts, trips, and wallet entries at any time.
- Control visibility of each trip from its edit screen.
- Block or report anyone from the three-dot menu on their content or profile, and review who you've blocked in Settings → Privacy.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing support@galaxielabs.space.
- Access or correct your data: email us and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to a copy of your data. We'll honor those requests and won't treat you differently for making them.
A subscription is managed through your Apple or Google account. Deleting your Supernova account doesn't cancel it, so cancel it there first.
Children
Supernova isn't for children under 13, and sign-up requires confirming you're at least 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travelling between the app and our servers is encrypted, and access rules limit private information such as your wallet to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Where your data is processed
Supernova's servers are in the United States, and our service providers may process data in other countries. By using Supernova, your information may be transferred to and processed in those places.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app.
